Sierra Softshell Jacket – is a tactical jacket from 5.11 Tactical®. It is designed for rainy transitional-season weather and features concealed tactical functionality. This model can be used for duty and everyday wear, making it suitable for undercover work.

Construction Features

The jacket is equipped with four pockets for carrying essential gear. The chest area features a pair of concealed zippered pockets with horizontal openings. They can be used to carry a tactical notebook or smartphone. Two additional zippered pockets are located at the bottom, providing a place to warm your hands or store tactical gloves.

All pockets are designed using 5.11 Tactical® RAPIDraw™ technology for quick access. The advantage of the lower pockets is their pass-through zipper, which provides access to gear worn on the belt. A hook-and-loop panel is located on the right shoulder for attaching identification insignia (patches).

Hook-and-loop cuffs and an adjustable hem help adapt the fit of the garment to the individual user. The hem circumference can be adjusted from the lower pockets using elastic cords with cord locks. The central zipper is equipped with two sliders for opening in both directions. It also features an integrated chin guard in the collar area and a special storm flap on the inside. It provides additional protection against wind and moisture entering the jacket.

Material Benefits

Sierra is made of three-layer softshell fabric with mechanical stretch. This fabric provides elasticity without the addition of elastane, which extends its service life and ensures comfort during active movement. The material consists of an outer protective layer and a middle membrane layer (waterproof rating 5,000 mm and breathability 2,000 g/m2 per 24 hours). These basic performance ratings are sufficient for protection against moderate precipitation and wind. For enhanced comfort and improved heat retention, the material features an inner microfleece layer. 

The fabric is treated with a special DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish, which makes it resistant to precipitation. The combination of materials and high-tech coatings enhances wearing comfort and extends the service life of the garment.
