The material used to make the Hot Weather Uniform Shirt has a number of unique properties that make it comfortable to use. The fabric is resistant to snags, lint, and unpleasant odors. The knit inserts on the inside of the sleeves and on the side of the torso have a special type of stretch - not by adding elastane to the fabric, but by mechanical stretching. The combination of materials increases vapor permeability without losing wear resistance in the stress areas of the sleeves and shoulders, which is very important when working "in the fields".

The design features include an arrangement of pockets that are easy to open with gloves on. All seams are arranged to prevent chafing when worn for long periods of time.
