Bastion Tactical Fleece is a fleece jacket by the 5.11 Tactical® brand. It is part of the 5.11 Tactical® Bastion winter clothing line. This model is suitable for everyday and military use. Bastion Tactical Fleece can be used as a third layer of clothing, either as a liner under a jacket, or as a standalone garment.

Advantages of Materials

The main fabric of the jacket is a high-quality fleece with a density of 350 g/m2. The material has a special coating to reduce pilling. This material has several advantages compared to other insulators, namely:

• soft and comfortable
• wicks moisture away from the body
• retains heat well even when wet

The armpit and side areas have inserts made of a less dense waffle fleece. This provides better thermoregulation. The waffle fleece has a special treatment that helps wick moisture away from the skin and prevents the formation of unpleasant odors. Special overlays are added to protect stress points, which help extend the product's lifespan. These overlays are located in the waist, lower part of the sleeves, on the outer collar, and shoulders.

Construction Features

The Bastion Tactical Fleece jacket has four pockets: two external ones with zippers and two internal ones with top entry. Inside the external pockets, the bottom hem is adjustable, as there is an elastic cord with a stopper. Inside the internal pockets, you can store EDC items, such as a smartphone, documents, or tactical notepad, etc. The shoulder construction eliminates a seam along the shoulder. This makes it more comfortable to wear the fleece with outerwear and gear carried on the shoulders, such as backpacks, body armor, etc.

The more mobile elements of the garment (sleeve area) are connected with flatlock seams that stretch and provide comfort during active movements. There are hook-and-loop panels on the sleeves for attaching identification patches. They also have special openings for patches. The central zipper has an internal wind and moisture protective flap and an integrated chin guard in the collar area. For a better fit of the jacket, besides adjusting the bottom hem, elastic cuffs are provided.
