Big Horn Jacket is a mid-season jacket from the brand 5.11 Tactical®. This model has hidden functionality that makes it a tactical jacket that can be used both in everyday life and in service. The Big Horn will be an indispensable assistant for undercover law enforcement officers. This model can also be used in winter in combination with thermal underwear, fleece pullovers or jackets.

The name comes from the Big Horn river, after which it was named. The famous 5.11 Tactical® Hit Factor Challenge shooting competition is held near this river, where licensed IPSC shooters participate.

Design Features and Materials

The main material of the jacket is a two-layer membrane that protects from precipitation and removes excess moisture from the body. To provide better protection from rain and wind, all seams are sealed. The torso and back area are insulated with fleece lining for better heat retention. The inner part of the collar is also insulated with fleece for greater comfort and better heat retention. The special feature of fleece fabric is that it not only retains heat well but also dries quickly and continues to provide warmth even when wet.

The Big Horn Jacket design includes six pockets: two lower zippered pockets, two chest pockets with Velcro closures, one internal pocket, and one near the cuff with a zipper. The chest pockets are based on the patented 5.11 Tactical® ReadyPocket™ technology, which provides instant access inside the pockets. They are convenient for storing a smartphone or tactical notepad. Ventilation zippers are located in the armpit area to prevent overheating during active movements.

On the side seam of the jacket, there is a patented Quixip® system for quick access to gear on the belt, such as an operational holster. The central zipper has two sliders for opening in both directions, an integrated chin guard, and an internal storm flap. The cuffs have integrated elastic and Velcro for adjusting the fit. The bottom hem of the jacket also has elastic for a better fit.

5.11 Tactical® has eliminated the use of PFAS compounds in its products. This reduces the negative impact on the environment and increases the safety of the products not only for people but also for flora and fauna.
