Light sticks are one light source which operates without electrical power. The luminosity is by bending the rod activated. The very visible light is at least 8 hours visible (at the beginning stronger, then slowly weakening). The usage of chemical lights are virtually unlimited: as an emergency light during power outages, party lights, at open-air concerts, camping, road marking for night hikes etc. The glow sticks even work under water and can not go out in the pouring rain. In the original package, the glow sticks are stored over years. The ingredients are classified by the authorities (TÜV) to be safe, so they can be disposed of in the normal household waste. These light sticks should be available in every household as emergency lighting.
