Zephyr MK2 GTX® MID are tactical boots designed for professional use. They combine low weight, a flexible outsole and wear-resistant materials. This model is designed for mid-season weather, although it can be used year-round.

Zephyr MK2 boots are certified professional footwear suitable for:

Since 2019, LOWA® footwear has been officially adopted for use by the "A" Special Operations Center of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), Special Operations Forces (SOF) and other units in accordance with the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine specifications for boots.

The Legendary Zephyr Model

The first generation of the Zephyr model has been on the market for more than 15 years. It has been extensively used by US and coalition special forces during the Afghan, Iraqi and Syrian campaigns, where these boots proved to be highly durable, comfortable and functional footwear. 

The updated Zephyr MK2 version features an improved foot support and protection system, enhanced abrasion resistance and an outsole that provides slip resistance on various surfaces.

Updated Gore-Tex® Professional Membrane

LOWA® not only releases new models but also collects feedback on existing products. The Zephyr MK2 GTX® MID model received the modified 311854C30 version, which retains the previous developments while incorporating certain improvements.

Inside the boots, there is a Gore-Tex® Professional membrane, which is now made of ePE (expanded polyethylene) instead of ePTFE (Teflon). The ePE material is twice as thin and lighter, while offering a high strength-to-weight ratio and providing resistance to tearing and abrasion.

It is manufactured without the use of harmful perfluorinated compounds (PFAS/PFC), reducing its negative impact on the environment. This improves the safety of the product not only for people but also for flora and fauna.

Construction Features

To ensure maximum reliability and structural integrity, all layers of the product are bonded together under pressure using Double Injection technology. The upper of the boot is placed into a specially designed mold, after which various layers of polyurethane are injected into it. This process joins the upper, midsole and outsole to form a reliable, integral construction.

The boot is secured to the foot using a two-zone system of closed hooks. It securely fixes the foot and allows the upper and lower parts of the footwear to be laced independently, while the stopper loop between them provides additional lace fixation. These hooks guide the laces and prevent them from catching on external objects upon contact. There is also a small lace pocket on the tongue, while a loop at the rear makes the boots easier to put on.

Natural Leather – Protection and Comfort in Challenging Conditions

Zephyr MK2 boots are made of natural leather with Cordura® inserts. The updated model features increased upper abrasion resistance by reducing the load on the flex zone. 
This was achieved by moving the seam from the toe area toward the middle of the boot. 

Leather remains one of the best materials for manufacturing tactical footwear. It combines high strength, comfort and resistance to external factors. High-quality leather provides effective protection for the foot against moisture, mechanical damage and temperature fluctuations. The material adapts well to the shape of the foot, ensuring comfort even during intensive use.

LOWA® X-TRAC® Military Outsole

The foot is protected by an outsole featuring a textured LOWA® Rubber Outsole tread pattern. It performs well on both soil and asphalt surfaces. The LOWA® X-TRAC® Military outsole is made from a special rubber compound which, thanks to its composition, provides reliable traction on various surfaces. 

The outsole also incorporates Slip Resistance technology, which provides protection against slipping on wet, slippery and oily surfaces, while also ensuring good traction on uneven terrain. This model combines thermal insulation properties for both warm and cold conditions, enhanced slip resistance, resistance to fuel and oil, and resistance to contact heat.

Midsole

The midsole incorporates several technologies at once: LOWA Monowrap® and Support Frame. The first of these technologies is a three-dimensional structure located between the upper and outsole. It provides stabilization and lateral protection for the foot. Support Frame technology creates a natural elevation of the ankle from the toe to the heel, which is why the boots have a slightly raised toe when in a relaxed position.

Warranty and care

The company PROF1Group® is the sole official distributor of the LOWA® Task Force (Professional) footwear line in Ukraine since 2005 (link to the official Lowa® website). All LOWA® footwear comes with a warranty against manufacturing defects. If defects are found during use, you need to:

• write an email to [email protected];
• send a photo of the defect and your order number (or a purchase receipt from our retail stores).

The warranty period is 3 months from the date of purchase (considering the seasonality of the footwear according to the current Law of Ukraine “On Consumer Rights Protection”).

The warranty does not cover defects and damages caused by negligent or improper use of the footwear (drying near an open heat source, etc.).

• orders are sent within Ukraine by the logistics company Nova Poshta
