Ukrainian Pixel – a versatile digital camouflage MM14 of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Ukrainian Pixel replaced the long outdated "Dubok" camouflage, which the Ukrainian army wore since 1984.
MM14 was developed by specialists from one of the Norwegian companies who presented their samples to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in 2012.
In 2014 (hence the name MM14), adopting the details of this camouflage, the Ministry introduced an updated uniform for Ukrainian servicemen with coloring that received the name "new Ukrainian pixel" (New Digital Ukraine).
The prototype of the new uniform was the well-known American Marpat camouflage. The Ukrainian camouflage took the proven technology of pixel spots, which has proven itself well in combat conditions. Such a spot is universal because it breaks the silhouette of a soldier into parts and "blends" it with the surrounding environment, not allowing the enemy to focus their gaze on the military.
The developers of this camouflage chose a special coloring that is universal for Ukrainian terrain. Thus, the digital pattern consists of pixels of different sizes in light brown, gray, and green colors on a sandy background.
Thanks to this coloring, pixel camouflage can be worn in any terrain: in steppe, forest, or urban conditions, it provides excellent masking properties.
