Foldable Daypack III origins from the SMPS range of products. Because of the versatile use, it also fits perfectly in the MMPS range. Foldable Daypack III is a next generation foldable modular daypack. It can be stowed anywhere in a rucsac, or pocket, because of its weight and small volume when folded. Foldable Daypack III provides 35L additional space. Foldable Daypack III can take the side pockets from any large rucsac in the range, totalling to a volume of 55L.
 
The SMPS Foldable Daypack is a backpack lid, emergency backpack and daypack at the same time and can be easily mounted on the Berghaus Atlas, Crusader or SMPS Crusader RC. Fixed in four places, the Berghaus SMPS Foldable Daypack can be quickly detached and pulled out of the large backpack. Since the Grab Bag has a self-contained interior (pack sack), this can be pre-packed and quickly picked up with the attached shoulder strap. If needed, the lid compartment can be detached with the Breakaway Pack with four latches to carry water, ordnance and essentials.
 
The Grab Bag has multiple functions:

• backpack lid
• the unzipped bag can also be used as a stow bag
• backpack lid with zipped emergency backpack rolled up or unzipped stowed in the lid
• attach the backpack lid to the Atlas or Crusader, in emergency situations open the 4 Fastex buckles and pull the pre-packed Grab Bag out of the backpack
