The N3B Alaska parka is an American legendary jacket from the 1950s. It was designed to outfit U.S. Air Force pilots at the height of the Cold War. There was a need for warm and comfortable clothing that would protect against the cold even at extremely low temperatures at high altitudes, taking into account the low mobility of rafts in aircraft cockpits. Later this model became popular among civilian users, but due to its high cost not everyone could afford it. With the growing prevalence of military style and cheaper synthetic materials Alaska still gets its place in everyday life.
