The M-51 parka Navy is a prime example of how a very popular and technologically advanced military garment is gradually moving into civilian production and use. This winter jacket is the best embodiment of comfort, durability and comfortable functionality. It is suitable for everyday use in the city or in nature.

History of this parka started in the early 50-ies of the twentieth century, when the U.S. Army began to gradually replace the outdated uniform M-43 with a new set of index M-51. The latter was a layered set of clothes and consisted of insulated pants, insulating jacket and a warm parka, which was used as an outerwear. At the same time a global military conflict, the Korean War, began. It was during this military campaign that the M-51 uniform begins to be used en masse, in extreme weather conditions, by many military formations of the U.S. Army. The parka gets the slang name "fishtail" because of the special shape of the back part, which allows you to lengthen or shorten the length of the jacket, depending on the type of use. The Marine Corps, Air Force, Mountain Infantry units, and others were subsequently equipped with this model. After the end of the Korean Campaign, the M-51 fleet continued to be widely used by the U.S. Army, and was also gradually transferred to civilian use.

In roughly the same form the jacket has survived to this day and is sewn by many companies with various design changes. In 2021, for the 70th anniversary of the creation of the parka M-51, the company P1G® begins its production in Ukraine from the world's best materials.

This jacket is a continuation of the series started in 2021. The M-51 Navy parka is slightly different from the previous model - top material have DRW moisture protection. It is also equipped with the US Navy insignia of one of the most famous ships of World War II, the aircraft carrier Lexington CV-16.

The classic structure of this model is represented by the following design features. In contrast to the traditional cotton canvas, the modern jacket is made of heavy-duty nylon material with DRW moisture protection, it provides exceptional protection from wind, cold and rain. Maximum comfort at low temperatures is provided by the insulation - synthetic down, which has excellent thermal insulation properties and is hypoallergenic. The interior is lined in a signal orange color with the original print of the so-called "Blood Map". This is a United States flag and text in seven languages that the owner of this jacket is a U.S. soldier, please provide the necessary assistance and protection. A bright lining with this inscription was used to signal the evacuation of downed airmen.

All the essentials can be placed in the voluminous mortise pockets with button flaps. Inside there is another large pocket for documents, electronics, and the like. For a better fit, the jacket is adjustable with a drawstring fastener with leather stoppers at the waist and bottom. The back bottom has the previously mentioned "fishtail" element for optimal adjustment of the length of the bottom of the jacket with a button fastener.

The hood is comfortably shaped, protects the head well, is adjustable with a drawcord and has a warm lining of thick fleece inside. The volume of the hood allows you to wear it over hats and protective helmets. Central metal zipper has a windproof and waterproof overlay on the buttons. The cuffs are made of seamless knit fabric, they will protect well from dirt, wind and precipitation. There is a velcro panel on the left side of the chest for attaching insignia. In addition to high-quality outer and insulating materials the parka M-51 Navy has the best fittings: YKK® zipper, buttons and Prym® eyelets, it adds reliability and durability in winter conditions. The right chest and left forearm have chevrons in the style of the U.S. Navy from the WW2.
