The history of the B-9 winter flight jacket begins in 1943, when the growing demand for military equipment necessitated the creation of a warm and utility parka that could be manufactures faster than leather flight jackets. It was the world's first mass-produced military jacket that used natural down for insulation. It provided very good thermal management at high altitudes and was also the base for the later development of more famous parkas such as the N2B and N3B. This model is still popular today for utility, excellent thermal performance and charm of the 40s and 50s of the 20th century.

The modern B-9 jacket from P1G® has fully retained the heritage and construction of the original. It’s makes this jacket a stylish and practical piece of winter outerwear for urban and field use. It's made of a windproof and waterproof fabric that provides protection from precipitation and allows evaporation management and looks the same as on the original jacket in the 1940s. For insulation used a synthetic down - is a hypoallergenic material that keeps you warm in low temperatures and strong winds. This insulator makes the B-9 jacket lighter, more durable, and easy to care.

Two large pockets with wind flaps on top of the jacket to keep your hands warm. At the bottom there are two cargo pockets with flaps, where you can stowe gloves or small-sized equipment if necessary. Inside there is a pocket for a phone or other equipment that is not resistant to low temperatures.

Sleeve design includes an extra widening insert that allows freedom of movement when the arms are raised, that’s convenient for driving. Reinforcing overlay added to outside of the sleeve to increase the durability of the stress zones. The bottom of the sleeve has elastic knit cuffs that fit well around arm and protect from precipitation inside the jacket.

The legendary B-9 was the progenitor of many famous jackets. It possesses a nice aviator charm and complements style of owner, now you can personally touch the history of the US Army Air Forces.
