Winter thermo-mask "ECW Mask" is made of a membrane material for low temperatures WW-Block® and is one of the few membrane masks specifically designed for field use in military applications at extremely low temperatures.
Winter Mask "ECW Mask" protects the lower part of the face, nose, mouth and neck from frost, wind and rain. The anatomical design of the mask, and adjustable closure can be adapted to any type of face and head size. To facilitate breathing there are ventilation holes that located at the mask. Thermo-mask can be used in combination with military and sports helmets, as well as goggles, masks of any type and size.
As a rule, in winter field conditions using many layers of clothing for warmth that binds human movement. Unlike most materials used for the upper layers of winter clothing WW-Block® material is elastic (15% stretching of the material without loss of material properties with the return to the initial state). This characteristic of fabric reduces the load on the person during outdoor action and does not prevent sudden movements.
The membrane structure of the lattice of the material WW-Block® is designed for conditions of low and very low temperatures so that 80% of body heat is reflected from the surface inwards and only 20% goes out through the membrane lattice (excessive heat during active operations at low temperatures).
Most modern membrane textiles with polyurethane surface coating is not designed for extremely low temperatures due to the fact that the polyurethane hardens at low temperatures, which subsequently leads to the hardening of the entire tissue. The result is a "rustling" in the movement. In membrane thermo fabric WW-Block® is not used the polyurethane coating, but uses a dense polyester-structured pile (inside and outside of the membrane) that protects the membrane from exposure to low temperatures, abrasion (both from inside and outside) and creates an additional warming layer of air from inside the garment made using WW-Block® fabric. This three-layer membrane fabric structure completely removes the effect of the rustling.
