5.11 Tactical® Tac-Dry Rain Shell 2.0 is a lightweight waterproof tactical Hardshell jacket designed to provide protection from heavy rain, wind and adverse weather conditions. The second generation of the popular Tac-Dry Rain Shell features a tougher two-layer Ripstop Hardshell, a membrane with 20K waterproof / 10K breathable performance, fully sealed seams and updated functional features.

The model is designed for both duty and everyday use. Its low weight, protection from precipitation, effective moisture-vapor management and functional construction make the Tac-Dry Rain Shell 2.0 a practical outer layer for patrol duties, field use, hiking and active use in rainy weather.

20K/10K Membrane for Protection from Heavy Rain

The main body of the jacket is made from 2L Ripstop Hardshell — 100% nylon, 105 g/m². The material features a water-repellent DWR finish and a membrane with a waterproof rating of 20,000 mm.

Breathability is rated at 10,000 g/m² per 24 hours, helping moisture vapor generated during physical activity escape from inside the jacket. This provides a balance between protection from external moisture and comfort during movement.

Fully Seam-Sealed Construction

All seams on the Tac-Dry Rain Shell 2.0 are fully sealed. This helps reduce the risk of water entering through the fabric connection points and complements the membrane's protective performance during prolonged exposure to rain.

The center front zipper is protected by an external storm flap, while an internal chin guard is positioned at the top for additional comfort and weather protection.

Adjustable Hood That Rolls into the Collar

The jacket features a non-removable adjustable hood with a rigid brim. The brim helps direct water away from the face, and when the hood is not needed, it can be rolled up and secured inside the collar.

Tunneled elastic sleeve cuffs help reduce the entry of water and cold air through the sleeves. The lower hem is adjustable with an internal shock cord, allowing the fit of the jacket to be customized.

Mesh Lining for Comfort and Membrane Protection

The upper lining is made from Tricot Mesh — 100% polyester, 43 g/m². The mesh structure improves comfort during extended wear and creates an additional protective layer between the wearer and the membrane.

The lower lining is made from Taffeta 210 — 100% nylon, 54 g/m².

The jacket features three pockets for carrying essential items: two external zippered hand pockets and one internal left chest pocket.

Pull-Out Identification Panels

For professional duty use, the jacket features three concealed pull-out ID panels: one on each side of the chest and one on the back. When required, the panels can be quickly deployed from their concealed compartments and stored away again when identification is not needed.

This design allows the jacket to be used both in a low-profile configuration and with visible duty identification.

5.11® Quixip® — Quick Access to Belt-Mounted Gear

The patented 5.11® Quixip® system is integrated into the side seams. It allows the lower side section of the jacket to be quickly opened, providing fast access to equipment carried on a duty belt.

An internal loop is also provided for organized routing of cables from communication equipment and other compatible devices.
