Military Bundeswehr dogtag

Replica Bundeswehr military badge. Used to fill out personal data.
In the Bundeswehr of the Federal Republic of Germany, created in 1956, they adopted a traditional oval-shaped sign for their servicemen, but with dimensions of 80x50 mm. Now it has been made (and is still made) of special alloy steel, which is highly resistant to mechanical damage, fire and corrosion. Instead of a cord, a metal chain with a diameter of 2.5 mm links is used (of the same type as in the US Army). In the event of war, soldiers of the Bundeswehr are ordered to carry a personal badge in conjunction with a personal dosimeter. On the upper and lower halves of the sign (which now divide not three, but ten small slits) there are identical inscriptions and two holes for the chain. The field for inscriptions on the front and back sides of the personal sign of the Bundeswehr is divided by thin, pressed lines into corresponding sections of information, numbered in full numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4 - on the front side and 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - on the back . The sections include: nationality (letters GE from GERMANY), religion (K for Catholics or E for Lutherans), blood group and Rh factor, as well as the main carrier of information about the owner of a personal sign - his personal identification number (Personenkennziffer), consisting from 11 numbers and 1 letter. This number consists of 6 digits of the date of birth of the owner, the capital letter of the surname and 5 digits of his number in the lists of the Bundeswehr Office of Personnel, for example: 110273 K 31213. The rest of the unfilled sections on the sign are reserved for possible future application of necessary information. As we see, the German army, in contrast to the armies of other countries, still retains the century-long tradition of the “namelessness” of its personal marks and carries it back to the 21st century.
